Today we’re sharing boho bedroom decor – as seen in a bohemian guest suite, that’s still somehow manages cleans lines! This guest bedroom evokes a more edited bohemian style. Yes, it has the mix of colors, cultures, patterns, and textures you’d expect in boho decor. But it’s also modern and luxurious – and features peel and stick wallpaper in the attached bath. Are you ready to tour this boho bedroom? Ok! Let’s go!
When it was time for Boho Luxe Home co-founder Melanie Hönig to kick her guest suite up a notch, she knew she wanted to use some of her favorite Boho Luxe Home products. The bedroom walls were already a lovely shade of purple and she didn’t want to change that. Her business partner Kellie (aka “The Color Whisperer”) suggested an unexpected palette of purple and navy, grounded by black and white! It might be unexpected for boho bedroom decor. But the idea stuck.
The overall feel would be bohemian – restful – with a modern, glammed-up vibe.
The design duo’s Bryony Storm Dorian fabric would be the key piece of inspiration.
Melanie kept her Belgian Linen duvet cover, but added all new pillows – from luxurious velvets and one-of-a-kind global textiles to patterned pillows. The jacquard shams were picked up on a design trip to Morocco. The blue and white silk ikat added an unexpected twist.
Pillows are always a super easy way to update a room. Which one is your favorite?
It’s all in the details, right? Crespi Arch is one of Melanie’s favorite Boho Luxe patterns so she knew that this acrylic block would be perfect atop one of the nightstands.
Crespi Arch was inspired by a trip to a Moorish-inspired hotel in Italy’s lake district and adds another layer of boho interest, while still feeling modern. Of course, boho bedroom decor must include tassels, right? The Boho Luxe team jokes that Melanie’s motto is “put a tassel on it”. So in this room, she did just that! This custom, hand-beaded Boho Luxe tassel was designed to coordinate with the company’s wallpaper, and fabric and can be found on their website. It adds the perfect pop to this otherwise, crystal clear lamp.
And the tassels continue…you wouldn’t expect anything less, right? A fringed border on linen drapes keeps the background simple, yet luxe. Kellie also advised on the gray-painted trim.
The purple and gray-trimmed background is restful, elegant and fun. The house itself is a stately Georgian Revival with traditional details throughout. So Melanie played with the idea of a vintage four-poster, but glammed it up in chrome with a tufted headboard. The night stands are thrift store finds that were repainted.
Against one wall is a modern chrome and white leather chair featuring a furry pillow and a Boho Luxe Home pillow in the company’s Medina Arch pattern. The tonal color washes of the pattern add more texture to the room.
This little metal accent chair, which is normally used at the guest room’s desk, was covered in Boho Luxe’s Bryony Storm Dorian fabric by the yard. It coordinates with the custom bed skirt in the same fabric.
Connected to this modern bohemian guest suite is a bold, black and white tiled bathroom. Above the tile, Boho Luxe Home Bryony Storm Dorian wallpaper coordinates with the bedroom’s bedskirt, chair and shams. This peel and stick wallpaper is super easy to hang – and when you want to change it out, it comes off easily with no damage to the walls!
Tendrils of wild, white bryony vine can be found in English hedgerows as far north as Yorkshire. All of Boho Luxe Home’s patterns have a travel story, and this moody floral wallpaper pattern was inspired by Britain’s infamous rain and fog.
Here are some more lovely details of the bathroom…a black and white Moroccan style rug against a classic, black and white tiled bathroom floor…
A Moroccan tea glass on a black marble tray, complete with luxurious lotions and potions…
The chrome fixtures and shower seat, that refer back to the chrome four-poster in the bedroom…
Melanie says: “I hope that you enjoyed touring my modern, bohemian guest suite! Now, who’s coming over to stay with us?”
